Inhabited from the neolitic era, Bagnoregio became important for the Etruscan and after the Roman people. Situated 485 metres, in the middle of two little torrents of Vaiano. Their unstability, caused landslides and so the inhabitants decided to leave and abandon it.

The name Bagnoregio comes from Balneum Regis or Balneum Regium, probably due to to the existence of thermal waters.

The keens of arts are obliged to visit San Nicola Cathedral where there is the relic, in silver, of the Santo Braccio of San Bonaventura, a picture of Vanni that represents the Maddalena, the Municipal building, the Tecchi’s and the Counts Cagiano de Azevedo’s palaces, the Sant’Agostino church with works of art of Taddeo di Bartolo and Giovanni di Paolo.

dedicated to a strong Champion of the past , both on the motorcicles and cars. Open on saturday, sunday and holidays.

The most important event in Bagnoregio is the processione of the Good Friday, with the Santissimo Crucified of Civita. According to the tradition the Crucified, during the pestilence of the 1499, spoke to a woman.


  
   


Lessons of art (painting and/or sculpture)
It’s possibile, from april till september, coming before an agreement, to organize lessons of painting and sculpture for groups max 10 people. From april to september it’ s possible to organize lessons (one week minimum) for whatever level. For all those who want to deepin or continue with the lessons, it’s possible to prolong the stay completing additional forms. Our artists are part of the group of teachers of ARTINITALY, a cultural association that was born with the target to divulge the passion and the knowledge of the 'arts, in Italy (www.artinitaly.com). All the teachers are professional and exhibited their works in Italy and abroad. Some of them are foreigner and then it’s possibile to have the lesson in their mother tongue: it should be a double opportunity of learning! Due to the restricted availability of beds, it’s possibile, for the pupils, to accomodate, in the farm-house, also relatives or friends,until, at the most, to 18 persons. For the lessons it’s necessary to add a cost of about € 180,00 weekly for person for a forecast of 4/6 daily hours of workshop (dependent on the individual choise). During the free time, those that want can continue to work, otherwise can profit to visit the splendid localities near theour farm-house.


The Decoupage
In the town of Bagnoregio there are, regularly, lessons to learn the technician of decoupage; if you are interested you can keep directly in contact with the teacher for coming to an agreement. In the summertime there are festivals and many kind of holidays. In these situatons is possible to taste the local specialities, from the lake, but also pasta, rabbit, game, vegetables. Also the wines are excellent like the famous Est Est Est of Montefiascone, one of the most italian DOC well-known in the world, or the sweet Aleatico.


Sport, well-being, health, and relax:
Swimming - at Monte Rado, few minutes far starting from the farm-house, there is a swimming pool, open, large and beautiful, usually not crowded, where it's possible to have a calm swim;
Swimming - at Bolsena Lake , few minutes far from the farm-house, (the largest Lake in Europe - of volcanic origin) where it's possible to plunge in a crystal water;
Tennis - in Bagnoregio there are excellent courts where, booking, it's possible to have a confrontation with your friends;
Riding - at Orvieto scalo - 20 minutes - there is a good riding school, (also for children);
Shooting - hares and wild boars the preferred preys, but also birds (in the permitted periods);
Fishing - at Bolsena Lake: a big variety of fishes, tasty and much sought-after;
Music - at Vetriolo, every year, in august, live music with italian and famous artists and finally pyrotecnic expressions;
Cinema - in Bagnoregio there is a hall (Alberto Sordi) where there are in progamme new films (for adults and children).
Health - at Viterbo ( 26 km.) the Popes's baths - to spend your holidays in well-being of thermal treatments, in an absolute and relaxing rest.

 


Festivals, Music and Folclore
A lot of popular events during the vacations (Christmas, New Year, Easter, Spring, and Summer, Autumn and Winter, eating products of the land, of the lake, wild or of the farms. But also processions, during feasts, music and dances and pyrotecnic shows.
